Geothermal In Action
Walter’s Story
Imagine Total Energy Costs of less than $2000 per annum
This is the story of Walter, one of our hundred of satisfied geothermal clients whom wishes to share his real life, in real time experience living with geothermal energy. Walter holds a Bachelor of Architecture and is a member of the Ontario Association of Architecture (Ret.).
Walter had us install a WaterFurnace 5 Ton 410A ECM dual stage ground source system to provide his heating, cooling and assist the domestic hot water needs of his Muskoka home. This home is 1890 sq feet on the main and upper floors, plus a heated basement, half full, half crawl totaling about 1100 square feet. Walter maintains the home temperature at 72F, has an electric hot water tank, 40amp feed to a boathouse from his 200amp main panel, runs a water pump and all the regular household appliances including an extra fridge, and a freezer.
Walter’s total annual electrical consumption for everything (all lighting, heating, cooling, hot water, all appliances, everything) is less than $2000 per year!
Here are the actual hydro meter readings, provided by Walter:
